VIZALOCK Password & Data Vault utilizes a dual layer encryption strategy using an AES256 cipher with a key derived using PKCS with SHA256 hashes of your lock pattern. The outer layer encrypts the entire data file while the inner layer encrypts each piece of private data individually along with its own randomly generated salt value.

The lock pattern is similar to Android's pattern unlock screen with 9 dots, but offers much stronger protection while not requiring you to remember the exact order in which the pattern was drawn.
