point8 Android navigation app with Loc8 Codes for Ireland.

A simple, easy to use App (some in-app purchases available but all key features are FREE) which uses the very popular Loc8 Codes for navigating to places in Ireland (North and South). The app does not require any internet connection or mobile phone coverage to locate or create a Loc8 Code from your phone's positioning systems. Navigation with pre-installed navigation apps using onboard maps can also be undertaken without internet access or phone coverage. Loc8 Codes are a modern & useful alternative to the Eircode postcode for Ireland.
When you download you get the standard FREE version of point8

STANDARD FREE VERSION FEATURES:
1. Find and navigate to a Loc8 Code using pre-installed Google Maps.
2. In the case of an emergency or a breakdown the app also allows you to generate a Loc8 Code for your current location which can be passed on unambiguously to the emergency and rescue services!
3. You can also generate a Loc8 Code from a MapTap with an allowance of 20 MapTaps per week (further MapTap credits can be purchased).
THERE ARE NO CREDIT LIMITS FOR ANY OTHER LOC8 GENERATION/SEARCHING/NAVIGATION FEATURES!
4. No Communications/Sharing options are facilitated in this version.
5. You can purchase additional MapTap credits at €0.99 for a further 20
6. You can upgrade to the point8 PLUS version from within the STANDARD version at a cost of €4.99 NB post upgrade restart the app
7. You can save reusable Loc8 Codes to the app's address book

PLUS VERSION FEATURES
1. All features available in the STANDARD version are also in the PLUS version.
2. You upgrade to the PLUS version from within the STANDARD version. To get the PLUS version you must install the STANDARD version first.
3. You have 40 MapTap credits per week with the option to purchase additional credits at €0.99 for a further 20. THERE ARE NO CREDIT LIMITS FOR ANY OTHER LOC8 GENERATION/SEARCHING/NAVIGATION FEATURES!
4. You can use multiple communications/sharing options (FB/Twitter/email/text etc) to communicate a Loc8 Code to others;- for example if you wanted to indicate where to meet up or be collected.
5. You can navigate to a Loc8 Code using pre-installed Navigation apps including Google, Garmin/Navigon, TomTom, Waze, Navmii & others
6. You can save reusable Loc8 Codes to the app's address book & the phone's own contact book

CONVERTING AN EIRCODE TO A LOC8 CODE USING point8
You can use the both STANDARD & PLUS versions of the app to convert an Eircode to a much more useful Loc8 Code. Install point8 first. Then go to Eircode Finder via the phone's internet service - enter a known Eircode - Click the Directions Button (at the bottom of the user interface) - select your installed latest version point8 app and the equivalent Loc8 Code will be displayed. You have now traded-in an Eircode for a much more useful Loc8 Code. NB:- as Eircodes often point to the wrong location/building or do not indicate the correct road access point, you should use the point8 MapTap feature to adjust to the correct location before sharing or Navigating to it.
