With Mobile Alert can be alerted directly with an alarm sound on your smartphone when authorities warn of major accidents in your area.

The app can alert you if you are in the stricken area. You can also choose to be alerted when the warning applies to areas you have chosen in advance - for example, how your family or friends live. You can choose the types of events you want to be warned about, and whether you want notifications with sound or not.

You need to give the app permission to send notifications, but decide for yourself whether you want location-based alerts (via the phone GPS), select the alerts to one or more municipalities - or both. In the app settings, you can change the areas you want to receive notifications about the kinds of alerts you want to receive and what sound you want to be alerted to.

The app sends out warnings:

• When authorities issue alert messages
• When DMI emit warnings of storms, hurricanes, heavy rain, torrential rain and snowstorm
• When Vejdirektoratet sends special messages on acute motorway and brospærringer of longer duration
