Babies and children develop new skills almost daily. Sometimes they are easy to observe in everyday life, sometimes a playful task helps. Based on clear criteria and explanatory illustrations, you can use the small World Explorer app to quickly recognize whether your child has made a step in their development or is still learning it. They accompany the development of your child by answering suitable questions up to the age of 6 years.
This will help us from the University of Zurich to understand how the individual development of children works. We evaluate the order in which children progress.
Learn with the Small World Discovery App Interesting information about the most important development steps of children. In the search for a certain progress, you can search for, choose and deepen your knowledge of motor skills, language or perception. You will learn the prerequisites your child has to bring along for a developmental step and will receive useful tips for promoting progress.
Capture the best moments in your child's development wherever you are. With photo or text, very easy and intuitive. These will be displayed chronologically along with the achieved milestones in the small World Explorer app.
Every moment and development step recorded in the diary can be shared via SMS, e-mail and social media. You can also download the complete diary as a PDF. A printed diary of your child will make your relatives and friends a lot of fun!

At the Department of Developmental Psychology of Infancy and Childhood at the University of Zurich, we have made the amazement of child development a profession. We explore how babies and toddlers discover the world - how they learn, think and act. By using the app you help us to collect and evaluate important data and information for the development of children.
