Description of حقوق المرأة في الإسلام احمد أجاييف

This book attempts to refer to the causes of reaction, rigidity and backwardness that stigmatized Eastern women to the political, social and cultural contexts in which they were brought up, and in return it tries to deny the idea of this connection with religion. Therefore, the author of this book seeks to summon historical facts to prove that vision. He reveals the status of women in the pre-Islamic era and draws a comparison between it and the era of early Islam, then shows us that this situation did not last long. With the control of the Turks over power in the Abbasid era, the status of women deteriorated, and they returned to the harem room again, and the deterioration continued until the Ottoman Caliphate was abolished.

About the author:

Ahmed Agayev: He is an Azerbaijani author, politician and journalist. He was one of the first advocates of Turkish nationalism that relies on the Turkish language and ethnicity as a link between the Turkish people scattered in Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and even Turkistan in western China, in addition to many states and republics scattered in the Russian Federation.

Ahmed Bey Ajayev was born in the city of "Shusha" in Azerbaijan in 1869 AD to a Muslim family of the Shiite sect. He received a good education, as he studied at the Russian University of St. Petersburg and the French "Sorbonne", and was intellectually influenced by the views of some French orientalists. Agayev worked in journalism after his graduation, writing in various fields supported by his extensive knowledge and his proficiency in five different languages. He returned to Azerbaijan, leaving France to call for Turkish nationalism, and with the establishment of the "Azerbaijani Democratic Republic" in 1918 AD, Agayev obtained the Azerbaijani nationality and was elected to the new Azerbaijani parliament, but he immigrated to Turkey in 1919 with the Soviet control of Azerbaijan and its annexation to the Soviet Union, where he worked as a journalist and continued His political activities. Agayev was close to “Kemal Ataturk” (the founder of modern Turkey), as they combined secular and liberal ideas calling for a trend in Turkey towards the West and the separation of religion from the state.

Agayev believed that national liberation and the advancement of Turkish society would take place when a cultural and educational renaissance took place, illuminating minds and fighting reaction. That is why we find him interested in the issue of women's liberation and education. Agayev also had an important role in the efforts that were made to end the clashes in 1905 AD between the Muslim Azeris and the Armenians of "Armenia", Azerbaijan's arch-neighbor.

Ajayev died in 1932 AD in Istanbul, Turkey, after a busy life, most of which he spent seeking to unify the Turks under the banner of Turkish nationalism.
