Published in 1569, this Bible marks a milestone in the history of Spanish speakers, as it is the first complete version translated into Spanish, from the original Hebrew and Greek languages. It is known as the Bear's Bible because of the emblem that appears on its cover, a bear standing next to a bush, trying to reach the honey from a hive, logo of the Bavarian printer MattiasApiarius.

The Bear's Bible reflects the literary beauty of the so-called Golden Age of Castilian literature. In History of the Spanish heterodoxos, the Catholic scholar Marcelino Menéndez Pelayo praised from a literary point of view the Bible of the bear, which he considered to be better written than the Catholic versions of Felipe Scío de San Miguel (1793) and Félix Torres Amat (1825)

You can click on the screen and the lower part will show the name of the book and the chapter. When you press it, the list of books will appear and in the other the chapters that the selected book has.

You can select one or several verses of a chapter and mark as favorite you can also share with your friends the verses in the different social networks.

By clicking on the favorite clip, you will see the verses you have marked for quick access.

The Search menu will allow you to place a word in a text field and search the entire bible, in the old or new testament. If you specify the search range it may take less time to find matches, but if you select the whole bible it will take longer to Find the results.

The configuration will allow you to change the size of the letters and the reading mode (Nocturnal and daytime).
