Remembrance of Allah, worship of Him and the ability to live in accordance with the commandments set by Him is the most important human duty. Allah Almighty created man and sent down to this world only for this. Of all the creations, only he was entrusted with responsibility, and only he was appointed the deputy of Allah on earth, only he alone was subordinate to everything that exists, and only he was created capable of arranging life on this earth.
Being infinitely merciful to His creations, Allah directed His messengers to people in order to call them to worship. Those who followed this call built places on earth to worship Allah, the first of which was the Kaaba. As stated in the Holy Quran, the Kaaba was built by Ibrahim and his son Ismail (alayhimussalam). The legend says that upon completion of the construction, father and son called to Allah: “O our Lord! Show us our shrines and show us the places of our worship ... ”and Allah Almighty sent the angel Jabrail to them, who taught them how to make the pilgrimage. Having taught them the rituals of the Hajj, Jabrail said: "To erect to people that they should also make a pilgrimage to the House of Allah, and then they will come to you from the most remote places both on foot and on horseback." So Ibrahim (Aleikhissalam) began to call people to make the pilgrimage. Those who heeded this call began to come to Mecca and make pilgrimages, which, as the Qur'an says, cleansed the sincere from sins and revealed to people the true values ​​of their life. Throughout the history of mankind, the Kaaba was and remained the recognized "House of Allah" (Beitullah) on earth, and until the coming of the last prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), people continued to worship the Kaaba, although these rituals had a pagan meaning. With the advent of Islam, both the Kaaba and the rituals of pilgrimage were cleansed of the defilement of paganism and brought into line with the faith of Monotheism.
Dressing in ihram - the clothing of a pilgrim, a person plunges into the atmosphere of a different spirituality, which reminds him of the inevitability of death, that he, like all those around him, will have to appear before the Most High on the Day of the Great Judgment.
Allah said in the Qur'an:
وَأَتِمُّواالْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ لِلَّهِ
Meaning: "Perform the Hajj and die for the sake of Allah" This verse contains the command to perform the Umrah, like the Hajj. This is how the scholars of the Shafi'i and Hanbali madhhabs commented on it and, according to this, considered it compulsory to die at least once in a lifetime, if possible.

The sunna of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also indicates the obligation to perform umrah. It was narrated from Abu Ruzayn al-Akli (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: “Once I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said:“ My father is an elderly man and cannot perform the Hajj, I will die and go in travel ". Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Perform the Hajj and die for my father." (imams al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, an-Nasai, ibn Majah, at-Tirmidhi).
The Venerable Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Those who commit die are guests of Allah. He listens to their cries if they cry to Him, and forgives them if they ask Him for forgiveness. "
Umrah differs from the Hajj in that it is not limited in terms of its performance, it does not include such worship as staying in Arafat and Muzdalifah, sacrifice, and stoning of the Shaitan. Therefore, the Hajj is also called "Hajj Akbar" (Great Hajj), and Umrah - "Hajj As'ar" (Small Hajj).
Committing Umrah at least once during his life is for a Muslim sunnah-muakkada (Close to vazhibu-necessity).
A person for whom umrah is Sunnah must be a Muslim, mentally complete, adult, independent, financially secure and healthy, having the strength to endure the journey, an additional condition for women - the safety of life, property and honor must be ensured.
