Description of Kavi-Kosh | Sanskrit
We all know the external world (physical world) of matter, space, forces, energy etc. which is one and same for all of us. If this is a Computer, this is a Computer for all of us. If this is a Printer, this is a printer for all of us. If this is a digital pen, this is a digital pen for all of us. We also know through the Vedas that there is an another world which is called internal world, that varies. Every one creates his/her own internal world by his/her own mind, brain, knowledge, wisdom and intellect etc. We experience it in our dreams. At night when we sleep, the intellect also rests, five working senses and five knowledge senses are also on the bed under comfort that is the time when we start dreaming. At the dream stage also we engage in activities like seeing, walking, eating, drinking, reading, laughing . By which eyes we are seeing, by which legs we are walking or by which mouth we are eating or drinking in dream, it is a matter to mull over? Actually these activities are parts of our internal world which is created by our self. The internal world of the poets is stronger than other. They have more imagination or conjecture power. They think all day long for composing shlokas in different chhandas. They would like to compose shlokas even at the time of walking. Sometimes they experience scarcity of similar word having proper meaning as well as required matras i.e. laghu, guru etc. to make appropriate chhanda. We hope the Kavikosha will fulfill their need as this kosh has a lot of synonyms. All the synonymes/words have been compiled from the Amarkosh, Halayudha kosha and Ekaksharakosha. The kosha, I think will be of immense help to the poets who are engaged in composing poetries as per chhandashastra as well as to those who are actively engaged in developing new trend of poetry. Moreover, this is a digital kosha in the form of app. and being published under the project of E-content Generation with a view to develop E-Databank, E-Learning and E-Sources of Sanskrit Text sponsored by the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Deemed University, Institutional area, Janakpuri, New Delhi. I am grateful to Hon. Vice Chancellor, Prof. P.N. Shastry for thoroughly guidance in editing with authenticity. I extend our thanks to Prof. S. Subrahmanya Sarma, Registrar for rendering their support and services towards the present work. Dr. R.G.Muralikrishnan is also to be thanked for their sincere efforts through which the work of kosha could be uploaded on the prestigious occasion of Natyotsava. Dr. Deep Kumar, Dr. Arun Kumar, Dr. Bhanu Sharma, Dr. Vishwanatha Hegde, Shri Abijit Debabarma, Shrimati Asha Hegde and Miss. Samhita Sharma deserve my special thanks and blessing as they have gladly shouldered the burden of bringing out the work within a time limit. I shall be grateful to the scholars for sending suggestions for correction in the kosha as it is a natural process of kosha.
