Food table gives an overview of the content of energy and nutrients for the most common foods we eat in Norway.

Food Composition Table 2014 contains 1,469 foods and values ​​for 36 nutrients. Foods containing energy and nutrients are measured in the condition they usually are in the store, but the table also provides the nutritional content of a sample prepared foods and dishes. All table values ​​apply content in 100 g of edible product, ie nutritional content for the skin, shells, bones, seeds or anything that is not normally eaten is removed. Food Composition Table must be updated continuously as new food products launched each year at the same time as the ingredients and production methods changed in foods.

Chemical analyzes performed in quality assurance Norwegian laboratories
Borrowed values ​​obtained from industry or foreign food tables
Estimated values ​​estimated from similar foods and dishes

Food Composition Table provides the basis for calculating the intake of various nutrients for individuals and groups of people. It is therefore an important reference works and equipment in Food Safety & nutrition policy, education, public education and for health professionals and researchers. The table is also used by the food industry as the basis of declarations and in food production.
