The great scholars, and everyone who walks on the path of conduct, use the prayer of Tawassul as a strong rope to meet his needs.

The prayer of Tawassul has been narrated by Allama Majlisi in Baharalanvar and he says that this prayer was narrated by Muhammad ibn Babawiyyah from the Imams (as) and he said that he did not recite this prayer in any matter, unless I found the effect of answering it soon.

The content of the prayer of supplication is the prayer and request of need from God; With this feature, when we pray, we swear by God to the right of the fourteen infallibles (peace be upon them) and ask Him to fulfill our need and prayer on their behalf. Such a request is a sign of the position of the divine saints in the sight of God and has nothing to do with monotheism.

The late Ayatollah Ruhollah Shahabadi, the son of Ayatollah Shahabadi, who was the teacher of Imam Khomeini (ra), said about the virtue of the prayer of Tawassul: Every day you read, you memorize it. If one recites this prayer every day, it is the key that is locked, it is very effective in satisfying the needs, it increases the human faith, it is the best companion of man, in lonely time and when you reach a need, you realize that the prayer of recourse "It is mediated that you have taken that need from God, so the next time you have a need, you will say the same prayer."

Mirza Javad Agha Maleki Tabrizi, Imam Khomeini's moral teacher, says in his book Al-Muraqabat: The Infallibles (peace be upon them), although each of them is a means for the servants of God in all needs, but each of them is a characteristic for some needs. They have (if the prayer of appeal is a proof of this). The Messenger of God and his noble daughter and Imam Hassan and Imam Hussein (as) have characteristics in the needs related to obtaining obedience to God and His pleasure. The Commander of the Faithful (pbuh) has a characteristic of taking revenge on the enemies and removing the oppression of the oppressors. Imam Sajjad (as) has a characteristic about the oppression of kings and the inductions and temptations of Satan. Imam Baqir and Imam Sadiq (as) have the characteristic of seeking help in the Hereafter. Imam Kadhim (as) has a characteristic about perfect health from diseases and pains that people avoid. Imam Reza (pbuh) has a characteristic about the fears of traveling by sea and land and land without water and grass and without settlement. Imam Javad (as) has a characteristic about the development of sustenance and not needing what is in the hands of the people. Imam Hadi (pbuh) has a characteristic about judging the supererogatory and kindness to the believing brothers and the perfection of obedience to God. Imam Hassan Askari (PBUH) has a characteristic of helping in the Hereafter, and the Imam of our age, our refuge, our hope and protector, our light and our life, Imam Mahdi (as) is comprehensive of all the above-mentioned characteristics and for other needs as well. It is appropriate to resort to him.

Sheikh Abbas Qomi says about the supplication of Tawassul: It has been combined with Salawat on the pure arguments of God, and its collection has been included in a mature and expressive sermon, and Kafami has mentioned it in the last sections of the book "Misbah".

No specific time has been set for the recitation of this prayer; But in Iran, it is customary for Shiites to recite the Tawassul prayer on Wednesday nights after Maghrib and Isha prayers in religious places and in groups.
